Michail Zavlaris

Dr Zavlaris holds clinical, research, lecturing, leadership, and managerial veterinary background. He qualified from the Veterinary School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where he spent five years and completed his PhD thesis in Anatomic Pathology. He followed an extensive career as a general practitioner, owner of a veterinary clinic, locum vet, clinical director, and Quality Improvement leader in various clinical settings for over twenty-five years, in Greece and the UK. Veterinary entrepreneurship, business management, and development have become his passions in the last ten years. Michail presented talks and lectures on managing staff in veterinary clinics, enhancing employee retention, developing new graduates’ skills, and addressing recruitment challenges. He currently works as Manager of Anatomic Pathology in an international commercial veterinary laboratory. Michail has an interest in supporting collaborations with academia, research groups, and artificial intelligence firms to improve the accuracy of veterinary diagnostic standards. He loves reading novels.
