Dr Theodoros Petanidis graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001 and was awarded his PhD from the same institution in 2008. His research work has focused mainly in Leishmaniosis within the context of coagulation disorders. As a clinician he specialised in Internal Medicine and Clinical Pathology, with additional interest in endoscopy and infectious diseases. He has also worked as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly and as a Clinical Director for the Veterinary Center of Thessaloniki, a private veterinary hospital.
Since 2016, his interests shifted towards Data Science. He completed his MSc of Data Science at the University of Dundee, Scotland with a thesis in Object Recognition in 2020. His focus of study in Data Science has since been centered around the field of Computer Vision, even though a lot of his work is in Business Intelligence, Analytics and Predictive Modelling. Today he works as a part of a consultancy offering Data Science and Data Engineering services for both business and academic clients. His contribution in his team includes Data Management for Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
