Dr. Maria Lyraki

DVM, MSc, Dip ECVIM-CA, MRCVS,
EBVS and RCVS Recognized Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine Plakentia Veterinary Clinic, Athens, Greece

Maria Lyraki has a veterinary medicine degree from the University of Thessaly in Greece. She did a rotating internship at the University of Glasgow and a combined Master’s Degree and a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Bristol. She is the first-ever Greek European diplomate in Internal Medicine since 2022.

Maria is currently leading a medicine referral service in Greece but also has a strong research interest in diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and in particular feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). She is giving lectures internationally in the field and she is part of the FCoV-23 research team working on the recent FIP outbreak in Cyprus in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh.
