Demetris earned his veterinary degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2008. Following his degree in Veterinary medicine, he completed a 2-year master’s degree in Small Animal Surgery (SAS) at the same University. During this time, he was a surgical intern at the University’s Companion Animal Clinic. After successfully completing his Master’s degree, Demetris worked in his family veterinary practice, as a general practitioner. Since, 2012 Demetris has been working as an Official Veterinarian for the Veterinary Services of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of the Cyprus Republic. In 2024 he completed a two year Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA).
Demetris is currently the Board President of the Pancyprian Veterinary Association (PVA) and the representative of the PVA in the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA), the Federation of the Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) and the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM).
He is also an elected member of the Cyprus Veterinary Council, the regulatory and disciplinary body of veterinary surgeons in Cyprus.
He is also participating in the research regarding FCoV23 since the beginning of the epidemic in Cyprus.
