Dr. Christos Koutinas was born in Thessaloniki in 1976. He was admitted first in his class in the Veterinary Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he also worked as a post-graduate trainee and later completed his Doctoral Thesis. His training in small animal cardiology includes two sabbaticals as a visiting professor (Colorado State University, U.S.A. and Koret School of Veterinary Medicine, Israel). He has translated two small animal cardiology manuals in Greek and has lectured extensively on the subject, both in Greece and abroad. For the past 20 years he has been handling cardiology cases, almost exclusively, both in academia and private practice. His current research projects include biomarkers in various infectious and cardiac diseases. He is currently an Associate Professor in companion animal medicine, in the Companion Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Faculty in Thessaloniki.
