Thomas Ploegers

Thomas is a passionate veterinary master student expected to graduate in August 2024. With a strong ambition to provide the most sustainable veterinary health care, he actively seeks opportunities to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills. Thomas pursued an internship focused on sustainable veterinary health care with the Royal Dutch Veterinary Association (KNMvD). In collaboration with the Dutch Green Veterinary Foundation he worked on the veterinary sustainability scan from January 2024 to May 2024. While the content of the scan already existed, Thomas contributed significantly to the development of the practical tool, which was launched in May 2024.

In his spare time, Thomas enjoys being a scout leader, participating in local and regional Scouting activities. He also loves cycling and hiking in nature, appreciating the simple joys of the outdoors.

Thomas is excited to share his insights on sustainable veterinary health care, discussing the development and application of the sustainability scan, and offering his perspective on actions needed to advance sustainability in veterinary health care.
